FAIR PLAY ON FAIR PAY
July 30th, 2010
Unite Prudential Section have launched a Fair Play on Fair Pay campaign in Reading. It comes off the back of the 2010 pay review where a number of “effective” or better performers received no pay increase.
This is in part due to new rules introduced after the pay negotiations and pay ballot had been concluded, and the continuing use of market data to set pay.
Unite are already in discussions with HR Reward over these issues and our campaign is looking for 3 outcomes. These are :-
1. Effective performers who received no increase in April have their pay reviewed again in October.
2. Median data for all roles to be published on the Intranet
3. New rules capping pay for effective performers at the median to be removed for all future pay reviews.
Last week over 300 people signed up to support these proposals. We are now extending the campaign to other sites. If you support our proposals you can do 1 of three things:-
a) Complete one of the Unite postcards and return them in the Internal post to Unite Prudential Section, 8th Floor, Sheldon Square.
b) Sign the petitions.
c) Email Unite@Prudential stating your support
We hope we can demonstrate to the Company that our proposals have the widespread support of UK employees.
